Need helpful tips to create a Wikipedia page

Can someone kindly help me out in creating a perfect Wikipedia page? There is a friend of mine who has successfully published his book and I want to make a Wikipedia page for him. Since I am not a professional Wikipedia page creator I am not sure where to start from. I really need some useful tips to create a successful Wikipedia page.
